Google Reader is (still) a little more efficient

Some of you may not know yet what a syndication feed. To them, I propose this GoogleReader 150x150 Google Reader devient (encore) un peu plus efficacedefinition, very short: a syndication (by abuse of language we speak of RSS is the most common format) is a simple way to be kept informed of new content of a website without having to consult. For example, I highly recommend you start your syndication by subscribing to RSS RSS syndication Geekeries here! ;)

The others are probably already subscribe to many RSS feeds from any Internet know that the biggest problem with these flows, because it is too easy to subscribe, from the mass of information we will take full pear each morning if they agreed with several hundreds of them. Personally, if I did not empty my articles "to read" every day, blow up my Google Reader with a nice (1000 +) which corresponds roughly to the time in years that I must read for all!

In this jungle of RSS, it is difficult to sort out what is interesting from the rest.

It was nice to have everything organized in beautiful folders sorted by category and theme at a time ... it overflows! Fortunately, Google Reader, which is the RSS reader that I use everyday and I can not tell you too, think of us with 2 new functions.

The section "Explore"

explores Google Reader becomes (again) a little more efficient

explore Google Reader devient (encore) un peu plus efficace

Google now offers the "popular items" by searching the flow of the world (not just yours) so that you do not miss ever this hilarious video which everyone speaks or the plane crash which defrays the chronic.

If you use Google Reader, here is the direct link to the function. Note, this function is available in the left menu "Explore" -> "Popular Items" only if you set your language to "English" (for now anyway). This function is based, among other criteria, the new "interesting" (the equivalent of "I" in Facebook).

Moreover, the "recommendations" changes from place to place in "exploring" and changes its name to "recommended sources". This function is based on your history and reading habits.

Sorting magic
ranking Google Reader devient (encore) un peu plus efficace
Google Reader ranking is (still) a little more efficaceL'autre new function, which is great (easy and works), is the magical sort. No more hours sorting your content!

From everything I have tested until now, I must say that this function is especially effective. This replaces the usual chronological sorting. You can try positioning yourself in a big list as "all elements". You will see that it is based in fact well on your interests, the blogs you follow and the more items you've viewed. In addition, it becomes increasingly relevant as and as you use your Reader.

Conclusion

These 2 new features are based therefore ultimately be on the items considered most "interesting" to other users, or on items that you have personally subscribed to serve you on a shelf in a few seconds, only what you want really. It is noted that some time after adding Google Sidewiki the list of collaboration tools, Google still putting on the collaboration of its many Googlenautes. The collaborative work, this principle so dear to the future Google Wave ...
