Clean and a Virus free PC guide by Darrios

Clean and a Virus free PC guide by Darrios

After suffering constant virus attacks and an extrermely slow PC, I decided that I wanted to change this for free. Firstly I looked for a decent Anti virus, the one I found was "AVAST Home". Easy to install and in my Experience works brilliantly and updates automatically with a nice voice telling you its updated.

Then I needed a Spyware resolver so I chose Super Anti Spy. I was a little dissalusioned by the graphics, but I carried on installing it any way. You have to remove a few ticks from the boxes on the preferences but I will guide through the correct set up at the end of this blog. The next thing I needed was antimalware so I chose Malware bytes. Excellent in my experience, easy set up you just have to update frequently. New malware turning up every day. then last but not least "CCleaner" does what it says it does "Cleans Crap" both out of your registry and other parts of your PC you didn't know about. Another little program that I like is Peer Guardian 2, this is used for P2P technology. So when your copying files from your friends computer it blocks all the Bad Ip addresses that are prone to Spyware, Malware etc. Anyways enough with the Blog. Follow the guide below for a safe pc. A year and a half later I've had no probs.

1. Download Super Antispy

Install then go to preferences then scan settings and make sure all the tics are in the right places.

Make sure these are ticked. Close browsers before scanning, Terminate memory threats before quarantining, use kernal file direct access, use kernal direct registry access and use direct disc access. Make sure all the other boxes are unticked. Then do a quick scan, some of the Virus's and adware are pretty clever and try to restart your computer during a full scan. So quick first then full later.

2. Download Malwarebytes

Install then update and thats it, just carry out scans every now and again.

3. Now if you want to use your own Anti virus then its up to you. AVAST Home is free but just for home use and has lots of functionality. Heres the link:-

4. Peer Guardian for P2P safety.

Once you decided which Peer Guardian you want, on the settings make sure the HTTP is allowed or else you'll have problems connecting to some sites on the internet.

Any probs then give us feed back, and I will try to help you best i can.
