I bought my first MP3 player because I wanted a convenient way to listen to music when I ran in the morning. For the previous decade of running with music, I had used the standby cassette player. I had tried two different brands of CD players for jogging but they still skipped on me.
I received an MP3 player as a gift in an office x-mas exchange and was excited to receive it. It was flash memory so I knew I would not have to worry about skips in the music when I used this device for my morning jogs. Later that evening, I loaded the player with music and in the morning enjoyed a great soundtrack along my route.
Over the next few weeks of running with my new flash player in my hand, I began to notice the draw backs of running with it in hand. The player had buttons on both sides but the tips of my fingers only fell upon one of the sides. Going forward and going backward in the play-list was easy because those buttons were near my fingertips but adjusting the volume and fine-tuning the equalizer required me to flip the player around and realign the position of fingertips.
I figured the best way to free myself was with a shoelace necklace I could suspend the player on. It worked in theory, the sides of the MP3 player with the buttons were exposed but when running, the weight of the player coupled with my motion caused it to constantly swing here and fro. This wasn't causing the player to skip any but I assume that the player will last longer if it receives as little unnecessary vibration as possible.
I looked up my MP3 player on the manufacturer's site and looked for a link to 'accessories'. There I saw advertised were MP3 armband holders. Better yet, the frame of the armband holders that held the players, had button holes that matched the precise place of the buttons on my player. I ordered one and it arrived within three days.
Now I was set for jogging, an MP3 player on my arm with buttons easily accessible and a skip-free music source. That morning and since then, I've been inseparable from my music during workouts. Sure, I have moved on to a new player but the one thing that stays the same because it works, is using and MP3 armband holder for safely storing your player during exercise.
For the three MP3 players I have, the best MP3 armband holders are the ones sold by the manufacturer. These are made specifically to the shape of your player with press-points and a place to insert a headphone mini-plug that corresponds to the player. The drawback of these is you may not be thrilled for the limited styling options offered by only one distributor.
The other option is for generic brand MP3 armband holders. In this area you get a much larger array of styles to choose among. Popular options such as padded or slim, pockets for storing small items such as keys, a cellphone, a coin purse, etc., and water-resistant, helps you get an armband holder that meets your particular needs.
Once you do get an MP3 armband holder, you will enjoy the ease slipping your player into the case, adjusting the strap and getting on your way.
